Today, one out of every three people is exposed to a traumatic event at some point in their lives. While 15% of them show PTSD symptoms, this rate can rise to 58% for people who have experienced war, conflict, or natural disaster. EMDR, known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is an innovative psychotherapy method that facilitates information processing and integrates parts of traumatic memories.
In addition to the standard stimulation functions of an EMDR assistant device, measuring and recording the physiological data of the person receiving therapy and integrating these data with artificial intelligence services to measure the development of the treatment, the EMDR Therapy assistant engine will have the capability to use with IoT and wearable sensors.
In recent years, modern neuroscience has revealed new strategies to decipher how the brain copes with stress (Kolk, 2019). The specialist applying the treatment can create a file of the person receiving the treatment, with the demographic data of the person, the detailed interview notes of each session, the EMDR applications performed within the sessions, the physiological data of the person receiving the treatment during the repetitions and the storage and analysis of the verbal feedback and the progress of the therapy of the specialist. We plan to provide him with graphical data that will allow him to comment on it.
We think that this device will be a solution for the treatment of traumatic cases.
No company uses and develops this technology on a national and international scale. EMDR research and human resources, which limited minimal academic space, will be directly supported in this context.
